1. Who is responsible
Albert Moczadło, publishing under AlbertLab, provides DebtZero (Android package com.albertlab.debtzero) and this promotional website. Contact: albertmoczadlo@gmail.com. This policy covers the reviewed app configuration and the website, including their different data flows. It does not replace the separate policies of Google, Microsoft or a service you choose when sharing a file.
2. Information in your plan
The app stores the information you enter in a local SQLite database: debt names and types, balances, interest rates, payment terms, budgets, planned extra payments, payment records and balance history. It also stores weekly reviews, payday schedules, additional amounts set aside, optional notes, personal reasons, goals and milestone history. Language, country, format, theme and tutorial progress are stored locally as preferences.
No account is required. DebtZero does not connect to your bank or lender, read bank transactions or send payments. There is no developer-operated service that receives or synchronises your financial plan. The country choice changes presentation and guidance, not your physical location or contract terms.
3. Why information is used
Your entries are used on the device to calculate illustrative repayment scenarios, show recorded progress and provide the reminders and preferences you select. Personal notes and goals are optional. If you contact the developer by email, your address, message and attachments are used to respond, troubleshoot or address your request through the developer’s Gmail mailbox. Send only the information needed; a full financial backup is normally unnecessary.
The website uses technical request data to deliver pages and maintain security. The only preference saved by its own script is the language you explicitly select. Where data-protection law applies, responding to requests, providing the requested service and maintaining security are the relevant purposes; consent-dependent advertising features must follow the applicable consent process before use.
4. Google components, advertising and diagnostics
This policy covers the published ad-free version 0.3.5 and the upcoming advertising-supported update 0.3.6. Version 0.3.5 excludes Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). Version 0.3.6 uses AdMob and UMP: after checking the required privacy choices, it can display a banner on Home or Progress when a saved plan exists. The update becomes available only when released on Google Play. Development builds use official Google demonstration identifiers.
In advertising-enabled builds, UMP checks the required privacy choices and provides a Settings entry to revisit them when required. Google documents potential processing of IP-derived approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics and device or advertising identifiers for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention and security. Processing depends on configuration, platform and consent. DebtZero does not pass debt names, balances or notes to advertising calls. No separate developer analytics or crash-upload service is configured. Google’s own policies govern its processing and retention.
5. Android permissions and reminders
The app declares internet and network-state access. Notifications require permission on relevant Android versions and are scheduled locally when enabled. Notification text avoids debt names and amounts. Android settings and battery restrictions can affect delivery.
The app also declares boot-reception permission for local reminder components and an app-scoped permission for non-exported receivers. SDK-free version 0.3.5 does not declare advertising-identifier or Android ad-services permissions. Advertising-enabled versions declare AD_ID and can include ad-services, wake-lock and foreground-service permissions from their libraries. The app does not request GPS, camera or contacts. Backups use Android’s file picker and share sheet.
6. Export, restoration and device backup
Export creates an unencrypted JSON file in the app cache and opens the Android sharing interface. The file can contain your complete plan and history. You choose where to save or send it; the receiving application or cloud provider applies its own terms. Restore reads a selected file, previews its contents and requires confirmation before replacing the plan. Reminder settings are disabled after restoration until you enable them again.
The current Android manifest sets allowBackup to false, requesting that Android automatic app backup be disabled. This does not delete files you exported or copies held by another service. Protect backup files, avoid public links and delete unwanted copies separately.
7. Retention and deletion
Local information remains until you edit or delete it, use the confirmed clear-plan action, clear Android app storage or uninstall the app. Clearing the plan removes financial records and routine settings; presentation and tutorial preferences remain. Android’s clear-storage action also removes app preferences. Exported backups are outside that process. In the development-only clean-start transition, an older local database can remain for recovery until app storage is cleared.
The developer has no remote copy of your plan to retrieve or erase. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle the request and any applicable obligations; you may ask for deletion. Technical records handled by Google, Microsoft or your chosen backup provider follow their respective service practices. This site does not promise a retention period that those services have not confirmed.
8. Website, Azure and language preference
This static website is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Microsoft necessarily receives connection and request information, which may include IP address, requested address, time, browser information and security or diagnostic events, to deliver and protect the service. Azure infrastructure can process requests across regions. No Application Insights, advertising pixels, visitor analytics, contact form or remote font service is configured by this website.
On the main address only, a small script uses the browser’s preferred languages to choose a supported version. A manual choice is stored as debtzero.site.locale in localStorage and takes priority on later visits to the main address. Direct language and article links retain their language. No GPS, IP geolocation lookup or location API is used. The preference stays until changed or cleared in browser settings. If storage is blocked, language links still work and there is no redirect loop. The website itself sets no analytics or advertising cookies.
9. Recipients and external links
The developer does not sell the financial information you enter. The potential recipients described in this policy are Google for included components and email, Microsoft for website hosting, and services you actively select for sharing or opening external links. Opening Google Play or an educational source takes you to that provider, which may process connection data under its own policy. Their international processing and applicable safeguards are described in their privacy information.
10. Security and your choices
Website delivery uses HTTPS. Local plan storage relies on Android’s application storage protections; DebtZero does not add separate database encryption or a cloud account. Exported JSON is readable text. Protect your device and any exported copies. No storage or transmission method can be promised to be risk-free.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information, object to processing or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact the developer about information held in support correspondence. Local plan information can be managed in the app; the developer cannot remotely access it. Google and Microsoft provide channels for information they control. You can revoke notification permission in Android and clear the website’s saved language in your browser.
11. Intended audience
DebtZero is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. The website provides general educational material, not lending offers or an assessment of anyone’s financial eligibility. If you believe a child has sent personal information to the developer, contact the email above.
12. Policy changes and contact
This policy is updated when data flows, SDK configuration or website services change. Its effective date appears above. The current app and website policy is published on this Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps site; the language selector links to its other translations. For privacy questions and requests, contact Albert Moczadło / AlbertLab at albertmoczadlo@gmail.com.
